Various situations happen in life, for example – you buy a luxury toilet for a new home from abroad. Everything goes perfectly, but one day the flush mechanism breaks – a rubber stopper is torn, it leaks. In addition, the plug holder breaks. What to do? It will take almost a month to bring these details from abroad. And there is absolutely no pleasure to live without a toilet. But the solution exists. And we are glad that our customers do not lack the imagination to find that way out – it’s 3D technology!

The customer contacted us with a worn rubber plug and its holder. In order to make copies of these parts, we initially recreated their 3D models on the computer. To recreate not only the design of the parts, but also the real purpose, we selected TPU material for plug 3D printing. This material is elastic and resembles real rubber. The hardness of the material is 95A per shore.

We chose one of the strongest 3D printing materials – polyamide (PA11) for printing the holder. Printing was done with our new “Prodways” SLS 3D printer. Thanks to this technology, the restored part is very precise and robust.

Reproduction of parts using 3D technology is a particularly fast and convenient way to produce the necessary details here and now. The restoration of the parts of the flush mechanism took only a few working days and it was the most effective way to get these details in an extremely short time.
