Restoration is one of the areas where 3D scanning and printing technologies are especially useful. We have already shared many projects on this topic, but each new request is becoming more and more unique and creative.

According to the customer’s order, we performed the restoration of broken doors and windows. The customer’s front door and some windows were damaged during the break-in. To prevent the doors and windows from being replaced, the customer decided to restore the holes that appeared. To that end, we’ve come to the customer’s house and scanned the damaged door and windows using an extremely accurate “Artec Space Spider” 3D scanner.

The broken areas were restored using the 3D scanned data. We printed these 3D models with a “Prusa” 3D printer with durable and weather-resistant PETG plastic. The 3D printed parts were painted in imitational wood color.

The customer intends to put the 3D printed parts into the door and windows and fill the holes made during the burglary. This production method made it possible to easily restore missing parts and reduce the cost of repairing doors and windows.
