Creating unique products is often a long and complicated process in terms of traditional production methods. But 3D technology can make it easier and shorten this process to just a few days!

This time we are sharing a special request from the organizers of the “Silver Crane Award”. This year, for the first time in history, organizers decided to award the “Green Crane” for a film on the theme of nature. For this reason, we had to perform a 3D scan of the original silver crane and make a 3D printed copy. Since the award was dedicated to nature, we had to make it from ecological materials.

We use our most accurate 3D scanner “Artec Space Spider”. Its 3D point accuracy is up to 0.05 mm, so the original crane has been reproduced with extreme precision. 3D scanned model was 3D printed by an FDM machine. For this process, we used PLA plastic, which is made from plant raw materials and is biodegradable. According to the customer’s needs, the printed crane was painted green.

3D technology made it possible to produce this original award especially quickly and present it to the nominated team of the film “Acid Forest”. We are glad that 3D technologies have made it possible to implement a unique idea and fulfill it in an environmentally friendly way as well.
