We have the opportunity to team up with representatives of various professions and contribute to their unique and noteworthy projects. This time, we share a project in which we recreated three Jewish ritual objects, the Torah Shield (Tas), Torah Pointer (Yad), and two Rimoim. These ceremonial objects are used to adorn the Torah scroll and are an important part of Jewish religious and cultural heritage.
The replicas were recreated using reference photographs. After accurate 3D models were developed, the objects were 3D printed in separate parts, carefully assembled, post-processed, and finished with a silver coating to closely match the appearance of the original artefacts.
For 3D printing, we used SLA technology, which makes it possible to reproduce highly detailed and intricate objects with exceptional precision and surface quality. It also offers a faster and more cost-effective production alternative.
The completed replicas are now on display at the Lost Shtetl Museum in Šeduva, Lithuania, where visitors can not only view but also touch them. This hands-on approach provides a unique opportunity to experience these remarkable Jewish ceremonial objects and gain a deeper appreciation of an important part of Jewish cultural heritage.
