Do you have a unique idea but limited time to bring it to life? One of the biggest advantages of 3D technology is its speed and quality, which can be incredibly valuable in such situations.
A great example of this is the creation and printing of the SurfShark Legend award statues. At the request of the client, we enhanced last year’s design by incorporating two different printing materials and technologies. We also adjusted the color of the final products to create a more aesthetically pleasing and eye-catching design.
The SurfShark Legend inscription was printed using the highly precise Formlabs SLA printer and SLA Standard Grey resin. It was then processed and painted to match the customer’s desired color. The statue’s base, on the other hand, was made using the advanced FDM-technology-based Prusa 3D printer and black PLA plastic. After printing, the base was smoothed to eliminate the printing layers and painted black.
The two parts were then assembled and coated with varnish to ensure durability. Finally, plates were glued to the created statuette, on which the names of the award winners were engraved with the help of a laser.
We’re also pleased to have completed this project, producing all 12 award statuettes in just a week and a half.
