Sapieha Palace is a unique building of Baroque architecture located in Vilnius, Antakalnis district. Undoubtedly, it catches the eye of many passers-by. This building is also counting several hundred years now, so some renovation works are necessary to preserve it. However, the restoration of even a small part of a historic building requires impeccable precision, as it is necessary to maintain its authenticity. Luckily, 3D technologies can be a great help when it comes to a more complex restoration works that require a high level of precision. We are glad to have contributed to the restoration of the one capital of the Sapieha Palace. We started by scanning the capital segment, located on the 4th floor. For this, we used the Artec Leo 3D scanner, which is mobile and its speed reaches up to 80 frames per second. After 3D scanning, we resized the 3D model and printed it in two parts using a Modix BIG-60 printer and PLA plastic. Our clients used this model in the building restoration works. 3D technologies and professional engineers’ team is a very fast and convenient way to reproduce authentic objects with great attention to detail.
