We are delighted that 3D technologies play a significant role not only in technical progress but also in commemorating distinguished Lithuanian figures. We had the honor of contributing to the creation of a sculpture of the renowned theater, film, and television actor and director Donatas Banionis. The project was initiated by a foundation established by the actor’s family. The necessary scanning for the sculpture was conducted in Panevėžys – the city where the artist worked and spent most of his life. For this process, we used the innovative wireless “Artec Leo” 3D scanner, which ensures an accuracy of 100 microns. The completed sculpture stands 173 cm tall and depicts Donatas Banionis walking to create a role at the Juozas Miltinis Theater. This sculpture, created by sculptor Klaudijus Pūdymas, can be seen in Panevėžys, right next to the Miltinis Drama Theater.
