3D technologies allow you to create and modify environmental objects as well as make their improvements. This is also proven by our recent gun handle restoration project, during which, we performed digitization, modification, 3D printing, and painting of the gun handle.

First of all, a 3D scan of the original gun handle was made using an ultra-fast “Artec Space Spider” 3D scanner, with an accuracy of up to 0.05 mm. Secondly, we made the necessary changes in the scanned data – we deleted the existing original sign, and in its place we inserted the Vytis from the Coat of arms of Lithuania. The modified 3D model was printed by SLS technology-based industrial “Prodways” 3D printer, using strong and durable PA 11 material. To ensure the color similarity of the handle, the printed part was painted.

3D scanning, modeling and printing are great tools for improving existing parts accurately and quickly.
