3D scanning of various objects allows us to take accurate measurements and create 3D models quickly. With the help of 3D scanners, data is captured from several dozen points, ensuring that we get the most accurate information from all sides.
Recently, we partnered with “Telteka” – a Lithuanian company that specializes in telecommunications infrastructure and metal products. At their request, we performed a 3D scanning of a 30-meter-high chimney and accurately measured its diameter at three different heights. For this, we used a professional handheld 3D scanner, “Artec Ray 2” that captures even the slimmest and hardest-to-reach elements with extreme speed and precision, making the 3D scanned model even 7 times as high resolution as drone-based photogrammetry and with the highest level of detail. With the help of this equipment, we created a 3D model of the chimney, maintaining precise accuracy. This type of measurement using LiDAR scanners is significantly more accurate than measurements carried out with drones using photogrammetry.
3D scanning not only accelerated the chimney measurement process but also lowered the risk of possible errors and expenses.
