Žagarė Cherry Festival was exceptional this year. The funds raised for the tickets will be used for a noble purpose – the casting of a bronze sculpture by Barbora Umiastauskaitė (Žagarietė). The sculpture will be produced based on the model of the sculptor Romualdas Kvintas, who has already created it a few years ago. The works started by Kvintas are continued by his colleague Mindaugas Šnipas and architect Tauras Budzys.

To that end, we received a request to scan and print the original model of the sculpture. We used the most accurate 3D scanner “Artec Space Spider”, which scans with an accuracy of 0.05 mm. With the help of this device, we captured even the smallest fragments of the original sculpture.

The scanned 3D model was used for 3D printing of the replica. In order to maintain the highest accuracy, we used the SLA 3D printer “Formlabs”. Printing was done from the liquid resin.

The model of the sculpture was used for exhibition during the Žagarė Cherry Festival. 3D technologies have made it possible to create a copy of the sculpture very quickly and with great precision. The scanned model will also be usable at any time in the future.
