3D technology has greatly simplified the work of artists, sculptors, and jewelers. Making a copy of a unique item has never been so easy and fast. We are glad that this has been appreciated by many creators. This is also confirmed by an increasing number of inquiries from various artists.

This time we are sharing the project of the artist Aurelija Šimkutė. She brought a small (35 x 23 x 29 mm in size) piece of jewelry created by her and described as the being of human expression. We performed a 3D scan of this artwork. For this extremely small object, we used the “Artec Space Spider” 3D scanner, which can capture things with an accuracy of up to 0.05 mm. 3D model was scaled to a height of 20 cm and printed with a big-scale 3D printer “Modix Big-60”. The enlarged sculpture was printed of PETG plastic. This material is not only durable but also easy to post-process.

After printing, the artist made the desired adjustments and used the printed positive to make a mold. The final piece was cast in bronze and silver-plated.

This method of production conveniently and quickly simplifies the production of copies of unique products, allows you to change sizes and make needed adjustments.
