The furniture industry is an area that is rapidly adopting 3D technologies. We increasingly receive furniture maker’s requests to make 3D scans of furniture, parts thereof, carvings or decor elements. Also, we are delighted that lately we receive more and more small series production requests.

3D printing will never be equalized with massive production by casting technologies. However, when the customer makes a small series of exclusive furniture, which needs a specific design, 3D printing is a very fast and cost-effective solution.

This time we performed 3D modeling and 3D printing of specific inserts. They just snap into the plate of furniture and join two parts. Because the inserts are 633 mm length, we have chosen “Modix” big-scale 3D printers. These machines powered by FDM technology. For 3D printing was chosen PETG plastic with excellent technical properties. In total, we will print 1000 pcs of parts.

This production method allowed the client to save money and speed up the furniture production process. This amount is not optimal for casting production and is expensive. 3D printing has enabled us to offer an optimal solution that meets the customer’s expectations.
