Many times we have talked about the restoration of retro cars, museum exhibits, broken appliances, or even musical instruments using 3D technologies. However, we will expand this list further by including architectural restoration works. And of course – doing it by using 3D technologies. <\/p>\n
We received a request to restore an old console for the House of Signatories in Vilnius. The original consoles were almost gone, the client only had one historical picture and nothing else. However, even this small amount of visual information allowed us to fulfill this order. We 3D modeled the original console. Later, it was 3D printed on a large-scale FDM technology Modix 3D printer from PLA plastic. The 3D-printed console was used as a master model for mold making. With the mold, all the necessary consoles can be easily cast.<\/p>\n
This is a very fast and convenient way to reproduce unique things even if there are no physical originals. It is enough to have a drawing, picture, or simple sketch, and the rest is the professional work of 3D technology engineers.<\/p>\n
