When we see a well-groomed unique or vintage car rolling down the street, we often don’t even think about how much effort the owner has to put in to restore and maintain such a car. When one or another part is worn out, it is almost impossible (or very expensive) to buy a new one on the market. Especially when we are talking about unique, handmade modifications. Searches often become very long and complicated. 3D technology is the fastest and cheapest alternative to produce any unique parts.

According to the customer’s order, we performed a 3D scan of the Subaru car’s bumper air duct and a 3D print of the mirrored copy. We chose the most accurate “Artec Space Spider” 3D scanner, capable to capture environmental objects with an accuracy of up to 0.05 mm. A mirrored copy of the scanned model was printed with “Prusa” 3D printer. For printing we chose PETG plastic, which is perfect for air duct production with its mechanical properties.

This method of production allowed the customer to make a mirrored copy of the required part very quickly and easily and save not only a lot of time, but money as well.
