As a rule, we receive a growing demand for 3D scanning and 3D printing services from car and motorcycle enthusiasts in the spring. The strongest and most resistant plastics are especially relevant in these spheres. Especially when it comes to security. This time we share the restoration of a broken part of a motorcyclist\u2019s leg guards.<\/p>\n

The broken part can be restored in various ways. The simplest of these is a 3D scan if the client have a mirrored or another unbroken part of the object being reproduced. If this is not possible, the broken part can be repaired with CAD software.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This time, the customer has already applied with the model he has created.<\/p>\n

Safety guards require strong and durable plastic. For this reason, we chose PACF, a composite of polyamide, and carbon fiber. This plastic is extremely strong, significantly lighter, and resistant to high temperatures. Printing was performed with an FDM technology 3D printer.<\/p>\n

The customer fixed the printed part to the broken guard. Soldering made it possible to attach this part particularly firmly. By choosing such a technology, the customer will be able to use these guards for several more seasons and be assured that the restored part will not be inferior to the original.<\/span><\/p>\n
