Because of the quality and mobile handheld “Artec Eva” 3D scanner and portable battery, the job was done with ease. Direct sunlight effect was eliminated with the artificial shadow which was achieved with black fabric because 3D scanners cannot get feedback due inability to project any information on sculpture.

A very accurate scanned sculpture was scaled down to 1.3 meters height and printed in several parts with our own large format 3D printer. The machine can print up to 600 x 600 x 600 mm size objects. PETG plastic material was chosen because of its strength and possibility to post-process.

At last, parts were glued together and post-processed with special means to achieve a bronze look which doesn’t really differ from the original one. A created sculpture was taken with “Lietuva” yacht which went Lithuanian 100th anniversary on odyssey between Europe ports. With our equipment, large objects 3D scanning and large-format 3D printing of sculptures is a fully realized process, ensuring high quality, speed, and low production costs.

3D printing material: PETG plastic

3D printing technology: FDM (fused deposition modeling);

Product size (mm): 380 x 400 x 1300

By the initiative of “Klaipėdos šventės”
