Birute Park layout for the blind

Help to see the world! Of course, nothing will change the true power of vision, but it is a pleasure to contribute and let the blind to see at least a small piece of the world. Not in the eyes, but in the touch. This was the main meaning of the production of Birutė Park 3D model for the blind in Palanga.

For this project was prepared a special 3D model. Each element of Birutė Park was replicated with the corresponding elements - tree, lawn, pathway, water, sand, points of interest. Each area has a special surface that helps the blind to recognize and distinguish these objects. Points of interest are marked with numbers in Braille. At the bottom of the map, there are described each object in the appropriate numbers.

For project implementation was using 3D printing technologies.  Production was done with FDM technology using large format 600 x 600 x 600 mm 3D printers. Because this map is located in open-air at the entrance to the park, we specifically selected plastics that could stand outdoors. All the elements were assembled into one whole and fixed in a metal frame.

Today we are sharing photos taken a year after the layout was unveiled. You can make sure that neither snow, rain, wind or sun damage the product. We are delighted that 3D printing not only contributes to such great initiatives but also enables you to realize your unique ideas quickly and efficiently.
