For some people, a car is just a vehicle, but for others, it can be a way of life, a reflection of personality, or a way of expressing oneself. This is how almost every car enthusiast could describe himself. The desire to stand out from the gray mass of cars often leads to the need to improve not only the performance but also the appearance of the car.

This time we were approached by “Diveriks performance” to scan the body and trim of the BMW cars. For the realization of the request was used the highest speed and precision Artec Leo 3D scanner. This device scans with an accuracy of 0.1 mm, and the data acquisition process takes only 10-15 minutes.

The data collected during the scan were processed by the software, merged and cleaned of any noise. The client was provided with a neat STL file that can be used for a variety of purposes.

“Diveriks performance” used 3D scanned models to create custom car body kits. With the digital versions of the BMW E39 and E46, the developers have created custom trims using computer simulation software and prepared files for mold making. The finished products were made of fiberglass.

The benefits of 3D scanning in this manufacturing process
are undeniable – digitizing the surface of complex geometry allows you to save time, avoid production errors, and optimize developers’ work. We welcome clients who value their work and keep up with the latest technologies!
