3D mockup of the device was made by manufacturer’s inquiry who specializes in building the microfabrication system.
A given 3D model was optimized and simplified specifically for 3D printing and post-processing. All unnecessary inner and outer parts were removed due to a difficulty to produce and keep safe while handling. Because of the size, the model was separated into two parts and printed with “Zortrax M200” 3D printer because of its ability to produce good surface quality. HIPS material was chosen because of the surface quality.
Two printed parts were glued together and all surfaces were post-processed and applied with various substances to achieve the final look with correct color reproduction and inscription.
Mockup 3D printing and post-processing give an ability to produce unique models which are steady for handling or carrying.
