By pharmaceutical company’s comission, auger was scanned with purpose to replicate a part because of non existing drawings.
A part was scanned using “Artec Space Spider” 3D scanner which is known for its advancement and accuracy (up to 0.05 mm) because such scanner was created to use inside International Space Station (ISS). Auger part was scanned with high accuracy, all details were captured, even visible scratches or bump marks. Further reverse engineering work is done by pharmaceutical company.
High quality 3D scanning technologies are one of the best tools to replicate even most difficult geometrical parts because it’s quite impossible to get correct measurements using traditional tools as calipers etc.
