A frequent customer asks us what the maximum size of products we can produce and is often surprised that size is not the limit for us. 3D technology allows us to scan and print products from the smallest pieces of jewelry even to the coat of arms of the Presidency!

This time we are sharing a truly extraordinary project initiated by the Presidency of the Repub- lic of Lithuania. According to their order, we performed a 3D scan of the original coat of arms of the President and made a 3D printed copy with full post-processing. The order was made for the purpose of having a copy of the coat of arms until the original one will be reconstructed.

A 3D scan of the coat of arms was required to complete the order. We created it with a mobile and highly accurate “Artec Leo” 3D scanner. The scanned original was digitized with up to 0.1 mm 3D point accuracy. The 3D scanned copy was used for 3D printing on a large format “Modix” FDM technology 3D printer. This device prints products up to 1000 x 1000 x 1000 in size, so the coat of arms has been divided into just a few parts. The printed model was painted in the required colors at the customer’s request.

The 3D printed coat of arms is resistant to outdoor conditions, strong, and fully in line with the original. This work will adorn the Presidium for about 1-2 months, during the restoration of the old coat of arms. We are glad that the latest technologies were used to implement this order, which allowed us to respond to an especially large format order in just a month.
